For my model i have chosen a friend of mine, Jema Jones. She has done a few modelling work in and around Wales. I have chosen her for a few reasons, one she is a tall pretty female, she has dark hair, and olive (dark) skin. I felt using a female model would benefit the look a lot more as the movement in the body would look great on paint. I also chose her for her body, she has a great physique a very slim tall woman.
The fact that Jema has done a few modelling work before would benefit me greatly, this meant my photos wouldn’t look awkward and staged like, as she would know how to move and pose for photographs, As i wanted the shoot to look as professional as possible.
Due to health and safety reasons, I had patch tested my model before application as i didn’t want her to have any allergic reactions to any of the products i was going to use for my makeup application, i think this is a great practice to carry out as it demonstrates me being a professional and how it would also be in the industry. For example, fullers earth, pros aide, spirit gum, latex and any other products listed within my makeup contact sheet (design work),
As well as images of Jema’s face (Natural, and full face makeup), I also wanted images of her body. As i thought this would be great for reference use for my makeup designs, to replicate her body shape.
I’m really looking forward in working with Jema, as she has great morals and finds pleasure and interest in peoples work.
As other options i had also looked at other models to use for this shoot. I had spoken to a second year actor, called Sybil Lovemore. Who has also experience in modelling, as a black model. She was a beautiful lady and would of worked perfectly for this shoot. After getting in contact with Sybil she was more than ready to help, but unfortunately due to having knee problems I was unable to carry on using Sybil for my shoot as the timing wouldn’t work well with her either, which was a real shame.
